SASO is implementing a mental health program aimed at promoting well-being, awareness, and access to quality mental health support, especially among young people and vulnerable communities. The program responds to the growing mental health challenges affecting individuals, families, and communities, including stress, trauma, substance use, and social pressures.
SASO works with communities to raise awareness and understanding of mental health. Through community dialogues, facilitated film screenings, peer engagement, and information sessions, we help break stigma, challenge myths, and promote positive mental health practices. These activities empower individuals to recognize mental health challenges early and seek appropriate support.
The program strengthens pathways to care by linking community members to available and appropriate mental health services. SASO supports referrals, community-based support systems, and collaboration with health service providers to ensure individuals can access timely, respectful, and productive mental health care.
SASO invests in building the capacity of institutions, community structures, and frontline actors to respond effectively to mental health needs. This includes training facilitators and partners, strengthening coordination mechanisms, and promoting inclusive and youth-friendly mental health approaches that can be sustained over time.
Through this integrated approach, SASO is contributing to healthier individuals, stronger communities, and improved systems that support mental well-being.
