Health

We are committed to building healthier communities through integrated public health initiatives. Our work spans HIV prevention and care, mental health awareness, water and sanitation, and education on non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

HIV Prevention, Care, and Support

SASO leads efforts in HIV prevention through community sensitization, testing campaigns, and distribution of information on safe practices. We provide care and support services for individuals living with HIV, including counseling, treatment adherence support, and linkage to health facilities. Our programs also tackle stigma, ensuring that people living with HIV are embraced with dignity and compassion.

Mental Health

Mental Health

We recognize that mental health is a critical but often overlooked aspect of wellbeing. SASO focuses on demand creation for information and services, encouraging communities to seek help and normalize conversations around mental health. We promote prevention strategies such as stress management and resilience-building, while also linking individuals to accessible mental health services.

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

Clean water and proper sanitation are essential for preventing disease. SASO works with communities to improve access to safe water sources, promote hygiene practices such as handwashing, and support the construction of sanitation facilities. These efforts reduce the spread of waterborne diseases and create healthier living environments.

Awareness on Non-Communicable Diseases

Awareness on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)

SASO raises awareness about non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, which are increasingly affecting both young people and adults. Through education campaigns, we encourage healthy lifestyles, regular screening, and early detection. By empowering communities with knowledge, we help reduce the burden of NCDs and promote long-term wellbeing.

“Health is the foundation of empowerment, and SASO is committed to ensuring every community thrives”
